Is your old bike gathering cobwebs and living in the shed? Are you looking for a reason to ride once again? Well, the Retro Run is here to liberate your bike from the garage and get you riding with your friends!
The Retro Run is not about the latest deep section wheels, carbon frame and electronic groupsets. Quite the opposite, in fact.
The Retro Run is all about raising money for a good cause while sharing that awesome feel-good factor the comes with riding a bike with your mates in the sunshine; a reminder of the good ol’ times from your childhood!
Throw in a few pub stops and it’s a ride made in heaven!
Whether you’re riding a BMX, a Chopper, a tired hybrid or a good ol’ single speed, the Retro Run is an event that promises to be fun! The Retro Run will start from the Nailers Arms in Bournheath at 12pm on Saturday 2nd July.
The 9 mile ride stops at a number of local pubs before heading back to the Nailers for food and prizes.
Entry is £10 per rider, or if you’d like an official Retro Ride 6 tee too then entry is £20. The event is open to adults and children alike, making this a great day for the family!
Riders can expect free food and prizes for best bike. There’ll also be a raffle too! Be sure to stay up to date with the latest by following the Retro Run on Facebook.
The event this year will be raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). If you’d like to donate and can’t participate in the event simply text ‘RETR61 £3’ to 70070.
While all the staff would love to participate unfortunately we are already booked to support another local event that we are involved in – the ISOMAN triathlon at Redditch Arrow Valley Park.
However, Leon Southern, a bike mechanic based at Speeds Cycles Redditch branch, hopes to be able to ride the Retro Run! 😀
